We are now looking to expand our management accounts team to support Bulk’s growth and make further advances in our reporting and control frameworks. This role will play a key part in providing valuable insight to the key stakeholders of the business on the financial results and ensuring controls are well maintained across the board.

This role is ideal for a driven, detailed and organised individual who is looking to put their financial knowledge into practice. The role will involve exposure to all the UK cost centres of the business, providing valuable experience and development to anyone looking for a long term career in Finance.

What will you be doing? 

Management Accounts & Reporting

• Ensure accruals and prepayments are accurate on a monthly basis in line with FRS102 standards.

• Maintain and update the fixed asset register on a monthly basis, performing quarterly reviews of assets which may be impaired or disposed of.

• Assisting with monthly management accounts including commentary on variances, investigating anomalies and reporting findings to the Management Accountant.

• Prepare and process month end journals/re-classifications in line with the month-end timetable.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all material assets and liabilities.

• Work closely with the wider finance team and collaborate with team bulk as a whole to ensure accurate and timely month-end close.

• The ability to interrogate data warehouses to extract relevant data and to analyse, interpret and report on outputs.

• Attend departmental cost review meetings and complete investigations as required on monthly basis.

• Produce weekly stock report on adjustments and variances and feedback to Management Accountant on results.

• Supporting and liaising with the Poland Finance team where required.

• Produce ad hoc reporting as required by Management accountant.

Accounting & Control

• Support the wider business with in year spend and cost classification.
• Assist with the preparation of the year end accounts and audit requirements.
• Perform quarterly reviews of control measures providing analytical reporting on effectiveness.
• Maintain a control and improvement mindset highlighting areas of weakness & suggesting solutions.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidates for this role will be:

• Deal with large volumes of complex data and demonstrate the ability to present this in a clear and presentable manner.
• Preferably AAT Qualified and working towards chartership (ACCA/CIMA), (study support will be provided for the right candidate).
• Analytically minded with an eye for detail.
• Highly organised with the ability to work to tight and pressured timelines.
• Strong work ethic with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience using Sage 200 is preferable.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, especially in using Pivot Tables and other key Excel practises.
• Able to work autonomously.
• Keen to progress career in Management accounts.
